Terminal Benefits of deceased due to Covid - Certain instructions

Sub: School Education–Pension –Terminal Benefits – Forwarding of proposals for Pension and other terminal benefts pertaining to the Teaching and non-teaching staff deceased due to Covid to the O/o Accountant General, O/o A.P.G.L.I and treasuries etc. within 15 days after death – Instructions issued - reg.

All the undermentioned officers under the control of Director of School Education are hereby instructed to forward the pension proposals and other terminal benefits pertaining to the teaching and non-teaching staf those who are working under their control and deceased due to Covid to the O/o Accountant General, AP within 15 days after death of the deceased to provide relief at least to some extent, among the families of the deceased ones.

Sub: SCHOOL EDUCATION–TERMINAL BENEFITS – Request for issuance of specific instructions to the RJDs and D.E.Os and Principals regarding submission ofproposals for Pension and other terminal benefits pertaining to the Teaching and non-teaching staff deceased due to Covid and various other reasons; to the O/o Accountant General, O/o A.P.G.L.I and treasuries etc. within 15 days after death - reg.

I bring to your notice that, Hundreds of Teaching and non-teaching staff working under School Education Department is being dead due to Covid-19, which is unfortunate and pathetic. On the other hand, it is being delayed for unwanted and unknown reasons in submissionproposals of Pension and other terminal benefits to the Offices of the Accountant General, A.P.G.L.I, Treasuries and such other related offices for sanction and settlement of the same; which lead to uncertainty among the families of the deceased ones, since there would be many installments under due pertaining to theloans and advances taken from various sources; and for which, attachments, ceases and fines would have been imposed.

Hence, I request the Principal Secretary to Government, Department of School Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh, kindly to look in to the above matter and take necessary action to issue specific instructions to the Regional Joint Directors D.E.Os and Principals of various Institutions functioning under the Department; so as to submit the proposals of Pension and other terminal benefits pertaining to deceased Teaching and nonteaching staff; to the sanctioning and settlement authorities within 15 days after death; so as to en-cash the benefits at least within 02 to 03 months; and to avoid the attachments, ceases and fines against the loans, sureties and advances; and also to provide relief at least to some extent, among the families of the deceased ones.
